Beware! Once you've selected the "shade" of how you want the toast, and depress the lever, the only way you can get it to stop earlier is to unplug it!! I hate that aspect. I keep my bread in the freezer, so it takes longer to toast. The first time I used it, I set it for too dark. The toast started burning. I tried pushing up on the lever like you would to most toasters, but nada! I had to unplug it to make it stop. Very poor design. Other than that, I like it. It's not only wide enough for bagels, but long enough for Branola or Orowheat bread, which not alltoasters are. I plug this into a surge surpressor now, so if it needs to come out early, I trip the surpressor, and the toast pops up.
