Hamilton Beach 40-oz. Two-Speed Pulse Blender. Review
I think this ad is wrong in that it is a 48 ounce jar, not a 40 ounce jar. I initially overlooked this blender because of that until I went to the hamilton beach website.I have had this blender about three weeks. I use it every day for smoothies. I had another hamilton beach blender that was not as strong and I use to have to stop and start it to get it to blend my smoothies. It died during the warranty period. Fortunately it was no longer manufactured so I got this one instead. Customer support was so good and my new blender arrived in about 1.5 weeks for only $9.99 shipping.
I make my smoothies with a fresh banana then I fill the jar with hard frozen mango chunks (I keep my deep freeze at the coldest possible setting.) Then juice, milk and blend. This blender has no trouble blending up all that frozen fruit. I did try it once without the fresh banana. The blender conquered the fruit, but it did smell hot, so I wouldn't do that again. I have found that the longer I let it run, the smoother it makes the smoothie. It's a bit thinner, but its so smooth it's worth it.
I like that this is only two speeds. I never used anything but high and rarely low on my old blender. Extra speeds seem like one more thing to break down. I also like the BPA-free glass jar. I actually have a very expensive bosch mixer with a blender attachment that makes totally awesome smoothies. However, it's jar is made with BPA so I won't use it.
I did have trouble with the lid leaking between the lid and jar while I was trying to pour out the spout. I called customer service and they sent me a new jar right away. It does not leak. I like the spout.
I had another hamilton beach product (Hamilton Beach 33967 Set 'n Forget 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker that I had some problems with. Customer service was excellent then. I am a confirmed hamilton beach customer. Their customer service is just so good and I really like my crockpot and this blender.
