I requested and received this as a Christmas gift. I used it yesterday in the BBQ to hold marinated pieces of beef and lamb. They did a good job of holding the meat in place so that it would not spin when I flipped the meat. I used metal thongs to grab the handles to flip the meat, thus the fact that the handles are much too hot to handle was not a problem. The only problem occurred when I was using a fork to pull the meat off the skewers. One skewer pulled out of the handle.
