Description didn't say that this cannot be used on smooth ceramic cooktops, so I didn't find that out until I opened the box and read it on the pot's label. Disappointed in the description provided, but shipping was quick and the return was simple with a speedy refund.

Granite Ware Canning Kits Overview

Capture summer fruits and vegetables at their prime for enjoyment throughout the year by canning at home. This 12-piece canning kit provides all the essential pieces needed for getting started. It includes a 21-quart canner, a canner lid, a rack that can hold up to seven 1-quart jars, a 9-inch colander for washing and draining foods, a lid wrench that easily opens screw-on jar caps, and a funnel that fits both regular and wide-mouth jars, along with a pair of tongs, a jar lifter, and a magnetic lid lifter. To safely remove hot jars and lids after they've been sterilized in boiling water, use the jar lifter, which comes with coated ends for a secure grip when picking up the jars, and the magnetic lid lifter to easily remove the lids. The canning kit also supplies a 7-1/2-quart blancher pot, a blancher drainer insert, and a blancher lid for preparing produce to store in the freezer or for cold-pack canning.
The pots feature durable enamel-on-steel construction that helps save energy by heating quickly and efficiently. Side loop handles on the pots help ensure safe, secure transport, while domed lids with loop handles trap in heat for faster boiling. Even more, the collection of tools comes with coated handles that stay cool to the touch for comfort and added safety.
