The Prince's Poison Cup - Animatic DVD Review
R.C. Sproul is an author and preacher whom I've just encountered. This DVD, which comes with an audio book version of his picture book is a wonderful tool to use when explaining the necessity for Jesus's atoning sacrifice to children.When Ella has a tummy ache, she must take bitter-tasting medicine and she asks a very poignant question: "Why does medicine taste so bad if its going to make me well?" Ella's grandfather telles her a story about a great King, the King of Life, whose subjects disobey him. Because of their disobedience, their hearts turn to stone, and the King must send his son to heal the people. However, the healing of the subjects must come at a terrible price.
Sproul's story is simply told and read by the author in a vibrant fashion. Illustrations from the picture book are shown as the DVD plays, and the story will bring you to tears. Sproul explains the symbols in the story after the presentation: "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3-16). This book and DVD is one I will use when telling my niece the Good News of God's unconditional love. Praise His name! God bless you.
