Totally Bamboo Double Salt Box Review

I keep raw sugar in the bottom & sea salt in the top. Thought this would be great addition to the kitchen esp. during our hot, humid summers here in Massachusetts. While it looks nice on the counter and doesn't take up much space, a regular old salt shaker is easier to use. The lid on this cannot be opened with one hand. I have to hold this unit in one hand while twisting the top open with the other for fear of it tipping over. It does keep the salt/sugar free from clumping (so far), and while I get frustrated each time I try to use it, perhaps the tightness of the lid is a good thing. No accidental spills that way. But my kitchen is tiny and I think I'd rather be able to slide this open more easily using one hand and deal with any spills on my own. It does look very nice and holds perhaps 1/4 cup in each well. If the top slid more easily I would actually purchase a second one to hold my kosher salt and fresh pepper . Maybe it will loosen up with use. If so, I'll be back to edit this review.
July 25 edit: The raw sugar I keep in the lower portion of this salt box was a solid mass this afternoon. I still haven't managed to 'chip' it all out yet for fear of gouging the salt box itself. Short of soaking it in warm water for a while, I don't how else to get it out. Guess I won't be purchasing a second one, even if the lid opened more easily.
Oct 27 edit: kept trying in the hope the cooler weather would not let the sugar solidify to no avail. I even removed the raw sugar mentioned above and switched (for testing purposes) to regular white processed sugar. Same thing happened. Finally decided sugar just isn't the product for this and now use the bottom for pepper. Bit disappointed because I have beautiful pepper mills for the table/counter use, but don't want this to go to waste.
